TURISTA A BABORD! Franco, bikinis, toros i sangria

The book “Turista a port”, by Sebastià Roig, collects the vision, generally negative and sarcastic, that the official press gave of the tourists who visited the Costa Brava. This is shown by numerous examples taken from the pages of newspapers and weeklies of the Regime, such as Los Sitios de Gerona, El Pirineo and Ampurdán. This journalistic essay - rigorous, but written in an informal and pleasant tone - reflects some of the social, cultural, economic and urban changes brought about by the massive arrival of tourists in the Girona region, between 1940 and 1970.
