Art in the book. Bookplates from Modernisme and Noucentisme.

This book introduces us to the world of bookplates. It takes us to a not-so-far time when love for books and reading led to the creation of these little great artworks that became highly appreciated collectables. During Modernisme and Noucentisme in Catalonia, bookplates edition lived a golden age as other arts did.Rafael Masó designed some for his friends. The Masó House keeps a collection of bookplates by his contemporaries, which were the origin of this book. The selection is a small example of great artworks which invite us discover the artists and bibliophiles wisdom, and to vindicate admiration for art and books of that time.
