Masó. Interiors.

This book shows us the interior of nine houses designed by architect Rafael Masó Valentí (1880-1935) throughout his career, from 1907 to 1932. This overview proves that one of the most innovative aspects of the work by Masó was his concept of design and home decoration. Masó saw the transformation of home interiors as another aspect of national identity, modernization and Europeanization of Catalonia which Noucentisme promoted. On the one hand, he introduced and adapted to his designs he ideas of the most advanced designers from England, Austria and Germany and on the other hand, he integrated the contributions of quite a large group of craftsmen and artists from Girona who knew how to shape the furniture, stain-glass windows, sgraffitos, forging and ceramics he designed.
